On June 26, 2025, the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) hosted the 1st Workshop of the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence for Aerospace and Environmental Applications (LIAREA). The event stood out for its high technical quality and strong engagement from the scientific community.

Inauguration

The program featured 14 presentations by LIAREA researchers, covering topics such as weather and climate forecasting, astrophysics and space science, remote sensing, drone engineering, computer vision, and language models. The workshop brought together undergraduate research interns, master's and PhD students from INPE’s PGCAP program, as well as external researchers and collaborators, fostering scientific integration and interdisciplinary knowledge exchange.

Inauguration

Held in a hybrid format — in person at the Sérgio Sobral de Oliveira Auditorium at INPE’s São José dos Campos campus (São Paulo, Brazil) and virtually via the institute’s official YouTube channel — the event broadened its national reach and reinforced the growing research and development network focused on artificial intelligence applied to aerospace and environmental sciences in Brazil.
