Representing the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory for Aerospace and Environmental Applications (LIAREA) of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Dr. Valdivino Alexandre de Santiago Júnior participated yesterday in the Summit on Technology and Innovation organized by Estadão. The event is part of the commemoration of Estadão's 150th anniversary and was held at the Unibes Cultural in São Paulo. The event aimed to explore the main technological innovations that are already transforming society and productive sectors. Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and 6G technology were some of the topics discussed. Industry professionals from Google, Amazon Web Services, IBM, Febraban, Itaú Unibanco, Huawei Brazil, Nokia, and Mastercard Brazil participated as panelists. From the academic sphere, representatives from University of São Paulo (USP), Federal University of Goiás (UFG), and Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) attended, along with the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) as a governmental agency.

Dr. Valdivino Alexandre de Santiago Júnior joined the panel "Technology in the Era of Climate", which discussed the benefits of technology and artificial intelligence in providing sustainable solutions, the environmental issues caused by such approaches, and the solutions being implemented to balance the environmental impact of the sector, aiming for a positive net result for the planet. The panel also featured Newton Neto, Partnerships Director at Google Latin America; Fábio Cozman, Coordinator of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at USP; and Patrícia Pinho, Deputy Director of Research at the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM).
